The boards are constructed with two strong PVC laminates, essentially making them two boards in one! The rails consist of four layers, making them extra reinforced. Thanks to these special methods and materials, the boards can be inflated up to 29 psi. Red Paddle recommends lighter users inflate to 15 psi and heavier users to 20 psi. Since 2016, they have adopted a new manufacturing process. The boards are made using the new MSL (Monocoque Structural Laminate) method, which means they are no longer manually glued but machine-made. This ensures a more precise gluing process and reduces the raw materials needed for production. As a result, the boards are approximately 2 kg lighter and stiffer even when inflated to lower pressures! Additionally, a new feature, the RSS (Rocker Stiffening System), has been introduced. These are plastic battens that you can insert into designated slots on the side of the board, making it up to 40% stiffer! Since 2017, they have also added a special hole in the board where you can attach your camera, phone, GPS, fishing rod, etc., thanks to a collaboration with the well-known company Ram/Mounts.
