What is the Moai 11 for SUP?

The Moai 11 is currently one of the most popular choices for an inflatable beginner/budget Paddle board (ISUP) at the moment. Moai is relatively new in the SUP market, but that is far from noticeable, they offer quality products for a competitive price. You have 5 different Moai boards, the 9’5″ allround, the 10’6″ allround, the 11″ allround, the 12’4″ allround family (2-person) and finally the 12’6″ touring. Contents of the Moai 11 package

The package includes almost everything you need for supping straight away. For example, there is a leash to safely hold on to your board if you fall and thanks to the supplied bag you do not have to search endlessly for a suitable way to transport the SUP. 1. We test the quality of the Paddle board
2. The stiffness of the board

4. And finally, we test the manoeuvrability of the SUP

Quality of the Paddle board

We immediately notice something about the Moai: what a high-quality board for such a competitive price! Thanks to the supplied pump, the SUP board is inflated in no time and it feels sturdy (don’t want or can’t inflate your SUP yourself? Then take a look at our electric SUP pumps. Stiffness of the SUP board

This paddle board is double layered and made of drop stitch material. As a result, it does not bend quickly and it remains nicely stiff. The board is about 15 centimeters thick when inflated, which benefits stability (we will go into more detail in a moment) It is striking that a handle can be found in the middle of the paddle board. This is very useful for lifting the board in and out of the water. The handle also gives a handy indication of where to put your feet. Stability on the water

We mentioned it just now: when inflated, the Paddle board is about 15 centimeters thick. This in combination with the volume of 280 liters (air content of the board) ensures good stability on the water. After checking the quality of the board and the design, we stepped on the Paddle board and experienced for ourselves how the SUP performs. Based on our years of experience with various inflatable Paddle boards, we can say that this model is a perfect supboard for the novice supper. A stable board is a ‘must’ for a novice supper.

Maneuverability in the water

The Paddle board is incredibly manoeuvrable. This is mainly due to its wide center base of 76cm, average length of 11 feet/335 cm and its short round nose. This makes bends easy to make, which is partly due to its good stability. Good maneuverability of the stand up paddle board is not only important for novice suppers. Experienced suppers also benefit a lot from an agile board.
